Gongbo Tang is a lecturer and master's tutor at the School of InformationScience and the Institute of Language Intelligence at Beijing Language and Culture University.At present, he is working in the research group led by Professor Xun Endong, and cooperates with Associate Researcher Gaoqi Rao and many master's and doctoral students.

His research interests are natural language processing, large language model applications, machine translation and big data, and he has published more than 10 papers in top-tier international journals and conferences recommended by CCF as the first author. His current work focuses on using large models to empower smart education and the international dissemination of Chinese culture.

Prior to that, from 2021 to 2022, he was funded by the Natural Science Foundation of Sweden as a researcher in the Natural Language Processing Group of Uppsala University, Sweden, with Christian Hardmeier as the co-supervisor. From 2016 to 2020, he was sponsored by the China Scholarship Council to study for a Ph.D. at Uppsala University under the supervision of Joakim Nivre and Rico Sennrich. In 2018, he was a visiting scholar in the Natural Language Processing Group at the University of Edinburgh.

He is currently a member of the Youth Working Committee of the Chinese Information Processing Society, the publication chair of CCMT 2024, and members of the program committee, field chairs, venue chairs, etc. in top natural language processing conferences such as ACL, EMNLP, COLLING, etc.
